Q:

What can damage rose quartz?

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a rose quartz crystal and I am wondering what types of things could potentially damage it. I want to make sure I am taking proper care of it so it can continue to provide its healing properties. I have heard that certain chemicals or exposure to sunlight can be harmful, but I am not sure if there are any other factors to consider. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi there,

I have been working with rose quartz for quite some time now and from my personal experience, I have found that water may damage the crystal. I made the mistake of placing my rose quartz in water for cleansing purposes and noticed that it became dull and lost some of its shine. Additionally, I found that keeping it in direct sunlight for prolonged periods can also cause the color to fade. Therefore, I recommend keeping it in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Hope this helps!

Greetings everyone,

I have also had a chance of working with rose quartz and would like to share my experience. One major factor that could be detrimental to your rose quartz is exposure to high temperatures or heat. I made the mistake of leaving it on the window sill on a hot summer day and noticed that it became brittle and cracked. So, avoid placing it in areas where it can be exposed to high levels of heat or direct heat.

Best regards.

Hello everyone,

I've been using rose quartz for a while, and from my experience, prolonged exposure to water or moisture can cause it to weaken or become brittle. I made the mistake of leaving it on a damp surface, and over time, I noticed that it became dull and less vibrant. So, I would advise carefully drying the rose quartz if it comes into contact with any water or moisture and avoid exposing it to long periods of elevated humidity.

Best regards.

Hello!

I've been using rose quartz for a while now, and I've noticed that physically dropping it can cause significant damage. I accidentally knocked mine over onto a stone floor and it fractured into several pieces. It can be tempting to take it with you everywhere, but it's essential to handle it with care and always place it on a soft surface. In addition, it can be helpful to inspect the crystal regularly for any cracks or chips to prevent further damage.

Take care!

Hey there,

I'm also a fan of rose quartz and wanted to share my experience with light exposure. While rose quartz is known for its pinkish hue, too much exposure to intense light can fade its color. I had mine on a windowsill for a few weeks, and after some time, it became less vibrant than before. Therefore, it is a good practice to keep your rose quartz in a cool, dark place when not in use and avoid any exposure to direct sunlight or intense light sources.

Take care!

Hello!

I'm also a fan of using rose quartz and thought I'd offer my perspective. I've found that exposing the crystal to harsh chemicals can damage its properties. I was eager to cleanse it using rubbing alcohol and noticed it became cloudy and brittle. The same thing happened when I placed it near a room diffuser that used essential oils. It's crucial to clean your rose quartz gently using a mild soap solution and avoid exposing it to chemicals as much as possible.

I hope that helps!
